I hope that your instructor is a good one! I've had amazing yoga instructors and terrible ones. There's a huge difference. I hope you enjoy it because a good yoga practice can make you feel AMMMMAAAZZZZINGGG for days!! As for the guy and his loud breathing, that's actually a yoga thing!! You're suppose to focus on your breathing, and one (of many) techniques is to breath very loudly, almost like a cat's growl. It helps to focus you. You need to learn to focus on your own breathing and body and tune everyone else out. It's REALLY REALLY Hard though! That's one big reason why yoga is as much of a mental exercise as a physical one. My personal biggest problem is that I am constantly comparing myself to everyone else in the room. I'm fatter, I'm less flexible, I'm sweatier, whatever. (Note to self: Yoga is not for judging; just for being!) Stay with it, and I hope your teacher can demonstrates some of these facets of yoga to you so you can enjoy the practice more!
Christine
www.phoenixrevolution.netChristinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15187183342257251495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120555027099506181.post-1809936084393511872011-07-16T01:03:56.465+01:002011-07-16T01:03:56.465+01:00I was scared of gas too ladies! I ...Do you know what is keeping me from doing yoga? I have this OVERWHELMING fear that we will be in the middle of class and it is all nice and silent and we'll go to get into a pose and I will let out a loud, huge fart. Seriously. A fear of passing gas is preventing me from Yoga. This is why I am on anti-anxiety meds.Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02194299634556467542noreply@blogger.com
